Some recent blog posts here and here refer to the perspicuity of scripture. The word refers to the clarity of scripture. The Bible is clear on basic concepts regarding salvation. The essentials can be picked up by anyone who reads the Bible, regardless of formal training in theology or ancient languages.

I agree with this concept, but did find an interesting criticism on the clarity of scripture. In fact, there may be an indictment about protestants as a whole. I'm not sure yet how to respond, but there is indeed something wrong if we have over 20,000 denominations like the article claims. One thing I am sure of is that with our privilege of Private Interpretation (being able to read the Bible as an individual and interpret individually what is read) comes the responsibility of correct interpretation, regardless of the level of biblical education.
