No Time To Read

One of the main excuses people make for not reading the Bible is that it is too time consuming. Perhaps it is best to distinguish between reading the Bible and studying the Bible. Reading the Bible is no different than reading the newspaper or novel. If you can read at perhaps a fifth grade level, reading for a few minutes is not time consuming. Studying the Bible, however, requires some diligence and some time.

It is understood that life has many demands, and time is precious. However, there is enough time each day to do things that are important. There may be days where there is truly no time to read or study the Bible. But when day after day after day goes by, and it is never picked up and read for a few minutes, let alone studied, the problem is not lack of time, but rather lack of priority.
